Itinerary – Cork and Blarney Castle Tour

6:50AM : DEPART DUBLIN
To begin we meet in front of the Molly Malone statue on Suffolk Street (sitemap is available within the link to the booking page). We will begin our exciting day tour through Ireland’s southern terrain. However, before leaving you’ll meet your fun-loving and very knowledgeable tour guide who will introduce you to your fellow travel companions! As we leave the city behind us, we’ll soon pass into an area referred to as “The Curragh” within County Kildare. This region is absolutely perfect for breeding and training horses due to the rich and grainy soil that drains easily, making this area ideal for horse racing. Not to mention, the flourishing lands of County Kildare are owned by the likes of Agha Khan and Sheik Mohammed; well known names in the world of horse racing.

9:00AM : ARRIVE AT THE ROCK OF CASHEL
We will arrive at one of Ireland’s 7 Wonders referred to as the Rock of Cashel! Here we’ll explore the Hall of Vicars, Cormack’s Chapel, Celtic Cathedral, Round Tower and the surrounding grounds filled with ancient high crosses! In addition, you’ll have the marvelous opportunity to gaze upon one of Ireland’s oldest Romanesque wall paintings inside the world-famous historical landmark! This is a site of huge historical importance as it was the seat of the King of Munster and this location was a fortress which dates back before the Anglo-Norman conquerors reigned over the land. Not to mention, there is an extensive collection of historical, architectural and artistically related pieces gathered here.

11:30AM : EXPLORE THE CITY OF CORK
We’ll pass alongside two separate mountain ranges; the first are the Knockmealdown Mountains that have been made famous by the Irish folk song “Kitty Borne O’Brien”. Next, we’ll come across Ireland’s highest inland range, the Galtee Mountains. The views are simply breathtaking! We will arrive in the delightful city of Cork where we’ll have approximately 90 minutes to independently explore the streets as well as grab a bite to eat before heading off to our next alluring destination. While you’re touring the area, popular attractions to check out consist of visiting the famously diverse English Market, marvel at the Gothic St or ring the bells of Shandon at St. Anne’s Church for a small fee.

1:15PM : KISS THE STONE AT BLARNEY CASTLE
We arrive at Blarney Castle, which is the highlight of the tour for most. Blarney Castle is known around the world for its famous Blarney Stone. Kiss the stone and receive the “gift of the gab” (The queue for the Blarney Stone can be long especially during the high season). Blarney Castle isn’t all about the Stone; the Blarney castle itself is worthy of exploration as are its fantastic lush grounds and woodland walks. There is much to see and explore. See the Rock Close and find the Wishing Steps to make a wish!

7:00PM : ARRIVE BACK IN DUBLIN
To finish off, we’ll arrive back in Dublin to reminisce about all of the exciting highlights!

“Cork, Blarney, and the Rock of Cashel”

The Cork and Blarney tour was a wonderful experience. We were able to see the Irish countryside as well as a couple of historical sites that we wouldn’t have otherwise. The best part, however, was our guide, Joseph. He was well educated in Irish history and quite eloquent when describing various aspects of that history. He is also very entertaining. We would like to thank Joey for giving us an experience we’ll never forget!

“Extreme tours to Blarney Castle”

Had a wonderful time on the bus. Joseph our guide and driver was fantastic he new so much about Irish history it was amazing. He was so nice and friendly. He had us singing Irish songs and jokes. I would highly recommend this tour company and especially Joseph our driver. It is a long day but well worth it.

“Loved the Blarney, Cork and Cashel Tour”

My husband and I went on the tour of Rock of Cashel, Cork and Blarney Castle. First let me say Joseph was the most amazing tour guide he kept us entertained and gave us all so much interesting information on Ireland in general. He kept me laughing the whole way. He was by far one of the best guides EVER!. The bus was comfortable and had WiFi which I loved! The only thing I would be a bit picky about was Cork, not much to see, I would have gladly forgone Cork and spent more time at Blarney Castle as the grounds are huge and there is so much to see. Really a great experience. Thank you so much for a great day! Cheers from Toronto Canada!
